The date and the thermometer may mark the end of summer, and many think there is nothing more to do on the island in the autumn season.
However, autumn is one of the best times, along with spring, to enjoy the island, as there are far fewer people and the prices of accommodation, activities, and flights have dropped considerably.
A getaway to Mallorca in autumn is a great way to end the year! You can still enjoy the sun and the beach, many fun activities and plans, and best of all, you will have many places to yourself.
Do you want to know the 9 reasons why autumn is one of my favorite times to visit Mallorca? Keep reading, and you will find out!
1. Great weather! It is not as hot as in the summer
From my point of view, the weather is still the same or even more pleasant than in summer.
The island is dominated by Mediterranean weather, a very tropical climate that softens the temperatures once the summer is over, with little chance of rain.
Generally, in autumn, daily maximum temperatures do not exceed 24°C, and minimum temperatures rarely reach 8°C. So at this time of the year, you can still enjoy a nice and refreshing dip!
2. Autumn is the perfect time to go hiking
Autumn is the perfect time for hiking in the mountains of Mallorca, enjoying the colors of nature and the cool and pleasant weather.
At this time of the year, temperatures are more pleasant, and nature is filled with autumn colors, so you will be able to see one of the most beautiful landscapes of the island.
Mallorca has several hiking trails, from easier walks to more challenging trails for the more adventurous. You can discover unique natural landscapes and enjoy spectacular coastal and mountain views.
Hiking is a perfect activity to enjoy with family and friends, and it is a healthy and fun way to exercise outdoors.
Bring a backpack with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks, and enjoy a picnic in the middle of nature!
3. Best season to practice your “swing”
Mallorca is a popular destination for golf lovers. In autumn, the temperatures are milder, making it a perfect activity for this time of the year.
Comparing the number of golf courses concerning size, Mallorca is undoubtedly the number one in Europe.
The island has a total of 20 top-quality golf courses, as well as numerous specialized golf hotels for golf lovers. It is the venue for international tournaments, hosting the best golfers in the world.

4. Experience the harvest and the seasonal product
The beginning of autumn is when the main harvests occur on the island.
The different villages organize festivals to celebrate the harvesting of local products such as grapes and almonds, which are often integrated into the traditional Mallorcan cuisine of restaurants all over the island.
Besides being able to try them in the different restaurants of the island, you can also buy the products yourself in the local street markets you will find in the villages and cook them at home.

7. Great time to have the beaches for yourself
In autumn, you can still enjoy good temperatures in Mallorca, walk and lie on a beach to sunbathe and enjoy the scenery.
In addition, the low tourist influx will allow you to relax in one of its magnificent coves with the sound of the sea in the background.
You will find deserted beaches and coves usually full of people in summer, but in autumn, you can have them all to yourself.
If you decide to spend the whole day at the beach, I recommend staying until sunset because, in the fall season, you can enjoy the best sunsets of the year. Its beaches are dyed red, and the colors are mixed on the sea, drawing a unique landscape!
